The Annie E. Casey Foundation report, Early Warning! Why Reading by the End of Third Grade Matters, concludes that learning to read before fourth grade is critical in supporting children to succeed in school and in life.  The report makes the case that that schools need to increase and personalize instruction to help more students read proficiently by the end of third grade, and affirms the efficacy of Experience Corps as a results-driven literacy intervention program that targets lagging readers in underperforming schools.  Click here to review the report.
